Hey Reader!
We all do it. Whether we want to admit it or not, we all talk to ourselves π
π
So, today I'm sharing a quick habit that you can implement TODAY to help you get over the speaking hurdle and move from self-taught Spanish learner to Spanish SPEAKER.
Here's the habit: talk to yourself in Spanish in the mirror for 60 seconds everyday.
What I love about this habit:
- It's easy to incorporate into your current morning or evening routine. Before or after you brush your teeth or wash your face, just take a minute or so and talk to yourself in Spanish.
- Deciding what you talk about is EASY. Just answer the question "ΒΏQuΓ© haces hoy?" or "ΒΏQuΓ© hiciste hoy?" Or any other simple question that talks about your day. Check out this document for more ideas.
- Beginner to advanced (and no matter what Logro you're at), this is a challenge for every learner. It will clearly highlight your gaps. If you struggle to find the vocab for what you want to say, be sure to have a physical Spanish dictionary or the Spanishdict.com app handy to look up the words you don't know. If you struggle with sentence structure, make a note and reach out to us here at BTG Spanish (hola@btgspanish.com or reply to this email) and we'll help!
Why this is important: having the confidence to speak Spanish in random everyday situations requires PRACTICE. You will never be comfortable enough to do it if you don't practice it in low-pressure situations and right in front of your mirror is the perfect place!
We've put together a short exercise guidance sheet for you to print off and tape to your mirror as a reminder.
Β‘Hasta pronto!
